Agricultural Division
We own and run Sisal Estates at Kingolwira and Ubena in Morogoro Municipality. Also we own and run Mbarali Rice Farm, having a total area of 8,030 Hectares located in the southern part of Tanzania, in Mbarali Town, Mbeya Region.
Livestock and Aquaculture
In our Rice farms, we also do livestock and Diary animals as well as Fish farming(Aquaculture). We yield diary product like milk and other foods made from milk, including butter, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and condensed and dried milk.

Highland Estates Limited started as a family business in 1930s when the founder member of the company Mr. Abdulrahim Mulla introduced subsistence rice irrigation farming at Usangu, Southern Highland region by constructing an 11 kilometre canal from Igawa to Rujewa.
We currently operate in transport, Real estate and agriculture sector especially in Sisal and Paddy farming with proportionate investment in subsidiary industries like Livestock, Fish Farming and Poultry.

Spinning and Weaving factory installed in 2002 at UbenaZomozi sisal estate formerly under Tanzania Sisal Authority. The spinning and weaving factory with installed capacity of 2,400 tons.

Mbarali Rice Farm, having a total area of 8,030Hectares, is located in the southern part of Tanzania, in Mbarali Town, Mbeya Region. Besides paddy farming, the farm engages in Rice Milling, Dairy Animals and Fish Farming. The farm activities are semi mechanised from Planting to Harvesting; there isalso adequate source of water supply to irrigate the farm. Due to these favourable resources, the farm has been excelling in its production. The quality of the rice product is good.The price of the product is verycompetitive and it is sold in the packages of different weights under its own Trade Mark — Estates Rice.
HousingReal Estate
As a developer in the Real Estate industry, Highland Estates Limited hasbuilt 7large-scale warehouses at Kingolwira. Each warehouse has an area of 6000sq Metres. Out of the 7 warehouses constructed, 6 of them have been leased out to M/s Alliance One Tobacco Limited. While the 7th warehouse is leased to M/s JTI Leafs services who utilise the same for storing tobacco leaves for the production of cigarettes.

The transportation sector was at its peak in the early 1 970s, and Highland Estates Limited was at the helm of the rise of the industry. Having seen the opportunity, HEL began its dealings in liquid and dry cargo transportation throughout East and Central Africa. Over 50 years on, our company still boasts being amongst the leading transporters in the country. Our fleet of modern and well maintained trucks assure that your goods will be transported in a safe and timely manner.

Highland Estates Limited has over 8,000 Hectare of Paddy Farms in Mbarali and over 7,000 Hectare of Sisal farms at Ubenazomozi and Pangawe. Due to the nature of our farm work, our Company has to buy Tons of Fertilizers from Local/ International Suppliers every year.
